How the Optimizer Works
The tool loads all official public holidays for your country. Over 190 countries are supported with data from 2024 to 2030.

Understanding the Algorithm
The optimizer builds a day-by-day calendar for the entire year, marking each day as either a free day (weekend or public holiday) or a working day. It then uses a sliding window approach to find clusters of working days surrounded by free days.
For each cluster, it calculates how many leave days you would need to "fill the gap" and how many total consecutive days off you would get. The best windows are those where a small number of leave days unlocks a disproportionately long break.
The efficiency ratio (total days off / leave days used) helps you compare opportunities. A ratio of 5x means you get 5 days off for every 1 leave day used.

Start with vacation windows that have the highest efficiency ratio. These give you the most time off per leave day and are the core of smart vacation planning.
Instead of using all leave days at once, distribute them across multiple high-efficiency windows throughout the year for regular breaks.

The algorithm evaluates all possible vacation windows around holidays and weekends. The top results shown are the best non-overlapping options found. For very large leave budgets, there may be combinations of multiple shorter breaks that are also worth considering.
